CAFE's extensive framework empowers developers to create applications with elaborate User Interface.
The available toolsets make it possible to leverage and reuse the code accross different applications.
The framework is extensible and easily customizable.
CAFE can be installed on client machines quickly and easily. We use click once deployment method
to deploy the applications.
CAFE utilizes .NET platform with Microsoft SQL server as back end and VB.NET as front end. SQL
Reporting Services is used for creating reports; a web-browser control is incoporated inside the
windows form presentation layer; third party controls are also used to enhance the windows user interface.
Capture each data element change.Who made the change(user id), when (Date and time), Which patient (PatientId, Table name, column name) ,what was the old value, what is the new value and many more.
Track all successful as well as unsuccessful login attempts.For each session we also track which forms were viewed and for which patients.
Role Based Security
Form Level and control level access to users based on their roles.You can assign different roles to users based on their nature of work. The roles could be "Read Only", "Read and Write" and "Write Only"
Many applications need to manage documents like consents. We give users the ability to upload these documents to the server.
Automated Message System
Few applications require an automated email to be sent to the admin, this feature is already integrated with the CAFÉ framework.
For instance, if there are Protocol Violations added by the user, the PI or the admin would automatically be sent a message with the details of the Violations.
Or the PI can ask for an email notification when there are more than 5 violations in a month or per patient or any other custom criteria.
All CAFE Screens and Reports can be customized to meet the needs of your research group. This adds efficiency
to the work flow of your application.
This feature helps with Quality Control.Once the user has completed data entry, he/she can lock the record, which notifies the reviewer that the form is ready for review.
The reviewer can login and review the form and either approve it or make comments and alert the user of the errors/ issues which need fixing.
The database is in SQL Server that gets backed up daily for 15 consecutive days on Tape Drives.
These tape drives are stored at a offsite location.
We also make a permanent back up of the system each month.
We have a dedicated Server Manager who manages all our Blade servers.
We maintain a Terminal server machine.Users can remotely log into this Machine from anywhere to access café.
Multiple users can access CAFE concurrently.Currently we have over 200 café users across the 30 Stand alone café applications.
Reports can have static data with predefined templates
Or They can have customized templates
- Which accept some parameters ( like the start date, end date and more)
- Summary reports (accrual summary, grant submissions)
- Reports to show the counts based on some grouping criteria
- Form based reports
- Mailing Labels , Barcode labels
Reports can be exported to Word, Excel and PDF formats which can then be emailed.
Report templates are based on the user requirements
